The mother of infant Izack Jimenez Garcia rode in a wheelchair during her son's funeral at Saint Anthony's Catholic Church in Menlo Park.
"I'm so grateful with everybody here in this community," Ivonne Garcia Lopez told reporters on Friday. "I have no words. As you can see, my baby's gone."
Both parents of the infant continue to recover from gunshot wounds they received on Sunday night when they were shot inside their car.
Infant Garcia was also shot during that incident and died from his wounds.
Police have arrested 17-year-old Fabian Zaragoza in connection with the shooting. Detectives believe Zaragoza and another person mistakenly targeted the family, believing they were rival gang members.
Zaragoza is being tried as an adult in connection with the fatal shooting.
