Oakland police received calls at about 8:30 p.m. reporting gunshots and people screaming in the 800 block of 32nd Street, Office J. Moore said. Subsequent callers reported seeing shooting victims leaving the area in private vehicles.
Police located three victims at one hospital -- one of those three was pronounced dead at the hospital, Moore said -- and a fourth victim at a second hospital.
The surviving victims were reported to be in stable condition, Moore said.
Police have yet to identify a motive for the shooting.
