Verizon to discontinue unlimited web data plans

According to today's LA Times: the nation's largest cell phone provider will move to tiered data plans charging customers different rates for limited use packages.

You may remember AT&T, Verizon's biggest rival, scrapped its unlimited data plans in June of last year and now charges $25 a month for two-gigabytes of data and $10 for every additional gigabyte.

No word yet on what the tiered price packages for Verizon will look like.
