Ambulance accident sends 2 to hospital

An ambulance was involved in a small traffic accident in San Francisco on Saturday.

The accident happened around 1:30 p.m. at 17th Street and South Van Ness.

The ambulance, which belongs to St. Joseph Ambulance service based out of Marin, was not responding to an emergency when it slammed into the back of the car. Both the ambulance driver and the driver of the car were taken to a hospital.

There's no word on what caused the accident between the car and the ambulance.
