SF parking attendants catch conman in their lot

From a surveillance camera mounted on the back of our ABC7 studios, you can see on video the attendants confronting the man in a blue hat.

Many drivers unwittingly fall for people who collect parking fees, but have nothing to do with the parking lot, but you can avoid becoming a victim.

"Sometimes there will be an attendant's booth and it's a good indication if the booth door is open and it looks like it's open for business, that the person working there is in fact a legitimate parking attendant. And if you have any doubt, don't park your car, There's lots of parking lots in San Francisco," said San Francisco Police Sgt. Michael Andraychak.

Police arrested the man on battery charges after at least one of the attendants said the suspect punched him.
