Consumers still feel insecure about finances

The poll found 42 percent of consumers admit they do not track their monthly spending. Yet more consumers now believe they aren't saving enough money.

"Americans' feelings of job security have hit the lowest point of the year and by a margin of more than 3-1 Americans are less comfortable with the amount of money they have in savings today than the amount they had 12 months ago," said Greg McBride from Bankrate.com.

Bankrate says sticking to a budget will help to ensure a bigger savings account.
