Deputies investigate shooting involving pot grow

SAN LEANDRO, Calif.

The shooting occurred after four Oakland residents showed up at a home on 159th Avenue in San Leandro early Tuesday morning, sheriff's spokesman Sgt. J.D. Nelson said.

An Alameda County sheriff's deputy intercepted the vehicle shortly before 5 a.m. on westbound Interstate Highway 580, near Estudillo Avenue, and the California Highway Patrol was brought in to close westbound lanes to traffic as authorities responded. .

The injured man was taken to a hospital in Castro Valley with injuries that were not life-threatening, and westbound I-580 was reopened by 6 a.m., according to the CHP..
