Two arrested over graffiti in Palo Alto

PALO ALTO, Calif

An officer stopped an SUV in the 200 block of Sheridan Avenue at about 12:30 a.m. Thursday and discovered the car was filled with "slap tags," numerous spray cans, felt tip markers and several one-gallon paint cans, according to police.

Both the driver of the vehicle, Viliami Taipaletti, a 20-year-old East Palo Alto resident, and the passenger, 21-year-old Palo Alto resident Richard Holmes, were arrested.

Taipaletti had a no-bail vandalism warrant and Holmes was on probation for vandalism, police said.

They were booked into Santa Clara County Jail on charges of possession of vandalism tools.

Police are investigating whether the duo are connected to graffiti on city property.
