Study: Depression linked to strokes in women

SAN FRANCISCO

The Harvard Public Health study found women who take certain kinds of anti-depressants, such as Prozac or Zoloft, will have an increased chance of a stroke with prolonged use.

The study suggests woman with depression are likely to have other stroke risk factors, including diabetes and high blood pressure, because depression prevents them from exercising and eating properly.
