Counterfeiters thwarted at Outside Lands festival

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.

More than 180,000 people have purchased tickets for the event, and concert organizers are warning that tickets have been sold out for the remainder of the festival.

Festival organizers are also warning against counterfeit tickets that some websites and scalpers may be selling. For the first time, the Outside Lands organizers are using radio frequency identifiers embedded inside the ticket to thwart counterfeiters.

The event is causing some parking and commute problems for people who are traveling to or around the Golden Gate Park area. Organizers suggest using public transportation and cabs to get to and from the event.

Along with several prominent and up-and-coming bands, the festival is also hosting a taste of Northern California culinary and wine.
