The library is shutting down all of its branches on Tuesday the 23 to perform maintenance and upgrades on its computers. Officials say the software upgrades will make it easier for the public to use the library online and allow future updates to be done remotely, without shutting the whole system down.
Library officials chose the August date because it's one of the slower times of the year.
