For the first time in nearly a week, the main road leading into Yosemite National Park has just reopened as firefighters make steady progress battling a huge blaze just outside the park.

The fire is burning in rugged terrain in the Sequoia National Forest.

This morning, firefighters have it 50-percent contained and say it's burning away from the park. Most evacuation orders have also been lifted. Investigators say the fire started in a motorhome.
