Obesity rates lower among pot smokers

Scientists say they have made a surprising discovery involving marijuana and obesity.

Researchers in France found that obesity rates among pot smokers are about one-third lower than in non-smokers.

The results are the opposite of what they were expecting since marijuana is known to increase appetite.

Experts admit they are baffled and say they are looking into whether certain compounds in cannabis might help people lose weight.
