San Francisco Police admitted on Wednesday that a man they fired at over the weekend in North Beach wasn't the wanted man they thought he was.

The shots wound up hitting two bystanders, who are now recovering from minor gunshot wounds.

Police arrested Jesus Paredes-Rodriguez of San Pablo after officers allege he pulled a gun when they approached him.

Paredes-Rodriguez remains in custody on assault, drug and weapons charges. Investigators point out that he resembled a wanted man.

Police are not releasing any information about the wanted suspect.
