The management of Northgate Mall put up a barrier and palm trees to shield children from the pictures of the scantily clad women on the side of the Victoria's Secret store.
Some parents complained the ads were inappropriate considering they were in plain view of the children's play area.
"They said they knew there was a problem, that they were getting complaints for a long time since the ads went up, even before the playground was there," San Rafael resident Susan Zelinsky said. "Some people feel that those ads shouldn't even be in the mall."
A representative from Northgate Mall says the wall is a temporary solution until they can move the play area to another location.
