The UC Berkeley paper, the Daily Cal, is reporting. UC President Mark Yudof convened the group in the summer and they've come back with a suggestion of raising tuition to $24,000 a year for California students and increasing the number of out-of-state and international students, who pay more.
A UC spokesman says their recommendation is not binding and not related to the UC Regents' ongoing work to set a long-term financial plan that includes set tuition hikes.
