Friends of San Leandro shooting victims gather

SAN LEANDRO, Calif.

A dozen people gathered to remember the victims. The group included friends and family of the victims as well as investigators from the San Leandro Police Department.

The people gathered in the parking lot where at least two gunmen opened fire on a group of people.

"I honestly hope if anyone knows anything, to just come forward because whether it's something very, very small or whether it's something very big, anything to help get a lead, anything to help get closer to finding that person that did it," said Kayla Cunningham, a friend of Northington.

"She was a good girl, she's funny, spunky, crazy, and she's a good-hearted lady," said Clayneisha Taylor, a friend of Northington.

Police say that the illegal early-morning tattoo party had ended before the parking lot had erupted in gunfire.

The San Leandro investigators say this is very much an active case, but they have hit a roadblock. People have stopped coming forward with information. The police say they believe people know the shooters are and are refusing to identify them.

"There's members of the community, friends of the victims, maybe even family members that are not coming forth with information that they have," said San Leandro Police Sgt. Ted Henderson.

Police released the sketch of a person of interest. He is a light-skilled black male between 5'7" and 5'8" with a slim build, shoulder-length dreadlocks with bleached tips, and the most distinguishable feature they have is that he has gold teeth on the top and bottom rows and he has diamonds in the canine teeth.

If you know or see this individual you are urged to contact police and you can do that anonymously.
