SF launches bicycle rental program at city parks

SAN FRANCISCO

It's all part of an effort to encourage riders to pick up and drop off bikes at different locations rather than go back to where they started out. Two of the bike stations are in Golden Gate Park. The others can be found at Fort Mason Center and downtown at Justin Herman Plaza and at Union Square Plaza.

"You can go from here to the Marina, if you wish, or Justin Herman Plaza," said Lee.. Marina will begin in November, but Justin Herman Plaza you can go today and drop off that bike and on your way you can pass by City Hall and vote for the next few weeks as well,"

Parkwide Bike Rentals is charging $9 an hour for a regular bike and $35 an hour for a four-person surrey.
