7 arrested in separate incidents at 49ers game Sunday

The first two arrests came around 3 p.m. when officers responded to Section 6 inside the stadium where two people appeared to be heavily inebriated and were swearing and verbally abusive to other fans, according to police.

As officers handcuffed both suspects and were talking to them, one of the suspects kicked a bystander, who was not injured in the attack. Both suspects were taken out of the stadium and booked into county jail, police said.

Then at about 3:40 p.m., officers responded to a report of a fight in progress in Section 42 in the upper level of the stadium.

They responded to find two suspects punching a third person who was trying to get away from them. Officers were able to stop the fight, but during a scuffle, one of the suspects fell on an officer, causing them to both land on the ground, according to police.

Both suspects were identified as active Norteno gang members and were booked at county jail on suspicion of aggravated assault, resisting arrest and gang enhancements, police said.

Then at about 4:30 p.m., in Gate F in the parking lot outside the stadium, police officers were approached by an off-duty Watsonville police officer who pointed to someone who he said had an outstanding warrant out of Santa Cruz County.

The officers detained the suspect and discovered that he did indeed have a $25,000 warrant for his arrest. The man resisted officers as they tried to lead him out of the parking lot, and kicked and spit at them as well, police said.

Two of the suspect's friends tried to interfere as the man was being led away and were also arrested, according to police.

The suspect was eventually booked into jail while the two friends were cited at the Police Department's Bayview Station and released.

The 49ers won in Sunday's game, defeating the Arizona Cardinals 23-7, and are now 9-1 on the season.
