Oakland police now say an arrest is imminent in the shooting death of a merchant marine whose organs saved several lives.

Charles Butler, 23, was shot to death last week outside his home. He was a merchant marine preparing to head to sea for the very first time.

An East Bay transplant patient received Butler's liver on Sunday. And a San Luis Obispo man received Butler's pancreas and a kidney.

Butler has now given the gift of life to four transplant patients.
