The collision was reported at about 8:20 p.m. near East Middlefield and North Whisman roads, police said.
The police car, which was responding to a call, was driving east on East Middlefield Road when it collided with the pickup truck, police said.
The police officer and the driver and passenger in the pickup were taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, police said.
The crash remains under investigation, police said.
