Higher gas prices start already

It's fairly routine that gas prices go up as the weather warms up and demand is higher, but we're already seeing steady price increases.

The California State Automobile Association tells us gas is at $3.91 a gallon in San Francisco, $3.88 cents in Oakland and $3.83 in San Jose.

The average price has gone up 23 cents a gallon in both San Francisco and San Jose since the beginning of the year.

Oakland has seen a 28-cents-a-gallon price hike. The annual spring run-up is coming earlier than usual this year. Analysts warn that may mean gas as high as $5 a gallon in some areas by June.
