AT&T to ease up on high data users

AT&T says it will ease up on penalties for customers who use too much data on their smartphones.

Customers who purchased unlimited data plans complained there were actually too many limits on using it.

AT&T has been throttling, or slowing down service, for the heaviest data users in a given month and region.

Unlimited data customers said they couldn't predict when they'd be slowed down and cheaper plans often provided more service.

So AT&T said from now on it won't throttle customers until they reach the standard 3 gigabytes of use in one billing cycle. That may not appease everyone.
