The fire was reported at Harbor Fish and Chips at 2632 Union Ave. at 11:37 p.m., a fire dispatcher said.
The restaurant was closed at the time, and the fire was reported by someone nearby that saw smoke coming from the building.
Firefighters got inside and put the fire out before the fire could spread to any of the neighboring businesses and the fire was under control at 11:58 p.m.
Information about the extent of the damage to the counter-style restaurant was not immediately available.
