New Occupy camp springs up in Oakland

OAKLAND, Calif.

The protest is small compared to past Occupy encampments and Oakland police made the group take down their tents Thursday morning. But about 20 people remained at the protest throughout the day.

Protesters say they're protesting the killing of Trayvon Martin in Florida and a raid on Occupy Wall Street in New York.

The group plans to hold a general assembly later Thursday. They say they might move or they might stay. The park closes at 10 p.m. This group claims 1,000 supporters will have arrived by then.
