Some 1,600 customers lost service at 11:11 a.m. when the tree hit the power line, spokeswoman Jana Morris said.
As of noon, there was no estimate on when service would be restored to those customers.
Morris said PG&E workers were on the scene assessing the damage caused by the fallen tree.
