It's last call for Gordon Biersch brewery on the Embarcadero and Harrison Street. That's right near AT&T Park. A local watering hole since 1992, the restaurant will close next week after running into lease problems.
"I'm devastated. I've been there for eight years. I love my jobs. I love my co-workers. I love the beer there. I love the community there. But, you know, the rent is going up and there's nothing they can do. Even though we're a corporation now, people will only pay so much for food and beer," bartender Azure Armstrong said.
Gordon Biersch management says the landlord is raising the rent from $65,000 a month to 80,000. They are looking for another spot nearby.
