Patrick Dempsey rescues teen from car wreck

MALIBU, Calif.

Last week, 17-year-old Weston Massett lost control of his Mustang flipping it three times near Dempsey's Malibu home. That's when the TV doctor pried the doors open, rescuing the teen who was barely conscious. He called 9-1-1. Then, in true McDreamy fashion, he reached out to the boy's mother.

"I asked if he was a paramedic and he said, 'No um, this is Patrick Dempsey.' I thought McDreamy?" Marybeth Massett said.

"I'm just really happy that he was there for me. Things could have been a lot worse if he didn't save me as soon as he did," crash victim Weston Massett said.

Dempsey's representatives are not commenting on the story, but Massett says he's alive not just thanks to someone who plays a hero, but someone who is one.
