Three blue balloons and one pink one should be hanging at San Jose City Hall where the sex of the peregrine falcon chicks has finally been determined.

On Tuesday morning, UC Santa Cruz researchers rappelled down to their nest atop the 20-story city hall. They put tracking bands of each of the four chicks and saw that momma bird "Clara" and daddy "Fernando" had three boys and one girl. The chicks hatched three weeks ago.

Kids can vote to name the birds starting Friday on the city's falcon website.
