The hoopla was for seniors who declared which universities they plan to attend in the fall.
The students from Coliseum College Prep deserve the star treatment. All but one of the students honored at the ceremony are the first in their families to go to college.
The school is located in one of the city's roughest neighborhoods.
The ceremony also included a special recognition for seventh graders who are about to enter the college track program.
