There was a solemn procession Wednesday morning in front of Oakland's police headquarters.

Chief Howard Jordan was among the men in blue saluting family members of officers killed in the line of duty. Inside, the names of the 51 fallen police officers were read aloud as surviving family members placed a flower on a giant wreath.

The names of all the officers killed are permanently displayed on a wall of honor in the department's lobby.
