The branch hit the Muni and power lines, causing the power pole to lean precariously into Church Street.
The pole fractured at the base. Crews are bracing the pole while city workers trim the tree branches in an attempt to insure this doesn't happen again.
Church Street has been closed since about 12:30 p.m. and the J Church Muni line has been stalled since 1 p.m.
PG&E crews said they are working as fast as they can to get the power pole braced so that Muni can resume service on the J line.
