Pit bull reunited with owner after 2 years on death row

PACIFICA, Calif.

Woody and his owner were reunited Friday at the Peninsula Humane Society. The 11-year-old pit bull was impounded two years ago after an incident with a jogger.

Owner Charlie Hilder says he has paid the Humane Society $6,000 in room and board to keep Woody alive and thousands more in legal fees to free him.

As part of the plea bargain deal that freed him, Woody will be paroled to Sonoma County to live with a friend of Hilder's.
