Average time spent on mobile calls on the decline

By the end of last year, the average phone call was less than two minutes. It was more than three minutes in 2006.

So now the carriers are contemplating doing away with minutes and shifting to unlimited calling plans. They say it would simplify a confusing array of options. Skeptics say it's just a way for the phone companies to hang on to that revenue.

Nothing has occurred yet, but get ready for a huge fight.
