65 arrests in Oakland street gang crackdown

Police in Oakland are crediting the U.S. Secret Service and Drug Enforcement Administration for helping them crack down on a violent east Oakland street gang knows as the "Burnout Family."

During the course of their investigation, authorities made 65 arrests and seized 22 firearms, along with a fraudulent credit card manufacturing system.

"The Burnout Family has been involved in drug trafficking, firearm possession, credit card fraud, and has been terrorizing east Oakland for several years," said Deputy Darren Allison.

More arrests are pending. According to authorities, the investigation represents one of the largest wire tap operations in the history of Oakland.
