According the Alameda County Fire Department, superheated oil is leaking and that is a possible fire hazard. Approximately 70 people were evacuated from the building as a safety precaution. There was one medical complaint and no other injuries have been reported.
It's unclear whether more evacuations will be called for. The plant is located at Smith Avenue and Cherry Street.
