Hans Reiser is acting as his own attorney. He is serving 15 years to life in prison. His children have filed a wrongful death suit against their father. They want compensation for their suffering from the murder of their mother, Nina Reiser.
Reiser led authorities to her body in a remote section of the Oakland Hills.
The children are living with their grandparents in Russia and they are not expected to attend the hearing. Their attorney believes Reiser may be hiding some money.
The trial is expected to last one week.
