Sausalito police responded to the area of Dunphy Park near the 1600 block of Bridgeway at approximately 2:36 p.m., on a report of a person brandishing a knife.
Witnesses told police that the man, later identified as Andre Conde, 39, of Sausalito, had brandished a knife at another man, threatening to kill him and then chased the man until he heard police sirens, at which point he fled the area.
Sausalito police and Marin County sheriff's deputies conducted a search for Conde and after about two hours, located him in the 1900 block of Bridgeway.
Conde was taken into custody and police found a large knife, matching the witnesses' description in his possession.
He was arrested in connection with making criminal threats, brandishing a deadly weapon, public intoxication and violating parole.
Conde was booked at Marin County Jail and is being held without bail for violating the terms of his probation.
