Walnut Creek water main break soaks homes

WALNUT CREEK, Calif.

Water from the break soaked some homes on 2nd Avenue and along Sheldon Court.

The water main broke Saturday night around 10 p.m. at a construction site. The water, several inches deep, flowed into driveways, garages and front yards.

One resident whose yard and driveway were flooded pointed the finger. "East Bay MUD should have responded a lot quicker. Walnut Creek police and the fire department was out, but they're not equipped or experienced in shutting this off. East bay MUD should have been here as soon as it was called in," Walnut Creek resident Frank Reggiani said.

ABC7 News called EBMUD for more information, but they were not available to comment.

The water main had still not been turned off two hours after it broke.
