The Marin County coroner's office says it turned over the case because Marin General declined to provide documents without a subpoena or court order.
Meantime, the Marin Independent Journal reports that a nurse administered a labor-inducing drug without a doctor's authorization.
The hospital is refusing to comment on the case, but a spokesperson did say tragic events do happen.
