An elderly woman who was struck and killed while crossing a San Jose street Wednesday morning has been identified as Flora Cadalig, according to the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office.

The 81-year-old San Jose resident was crossing North Jackson Avenue north of Alexian Drive around 6:20 a.m. when a blue 1993 Toyota Tercel traveling south struck her, San Jose police said.

Cadalig was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 50-year-old San Jose man who was driving the Toyota stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators, police said.

Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the fatal crash, according to police.
