Wiring stolen from Hayward HS football field

HAYWARD, Calif.

The team had to play their game Friday afternoon instead of the evening after somebody stole the wiring for the football field's lights, scoreboard, announcer's booth, and snack bar between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

School administrators say the lost revenue from the snack bar may mean the loss of a junior varsity team next year -- it usually rakes in about $1,500 a game.

Hayward HS is asking for donations to make up for the loss.
