A lockdown at an Oakland high school ended Friday afternoon after police arrested a suspect with a gun, an Oakland Unified School District spokesman said.

McClymonds High School, located at 2607 Myrtle St., was placed on lockdown at 11:30 a.m. when police were searching for a man with a firearm near 26th and Market streets, district spokesman Troy Flint and police said.

The school reopened at 12:30 p.m. when police made an arrest down the block, Flint said.
