Williams was taken into custody at the Courtyard Marriott on Broadway Wednesday night after an 18-year-old Berkeley man told police he'd been hit in the head by a bottle thrown from Katt's tour vehicle, parked outside the hotel.
He was in the Bay Area for a Friday night performance at the Oracle Arena.
The 41-year-old wasn't jailed. Police say questioning continues.
