Study links addiction gene to teen drinking

Researchers say "R-A-S-G-R-F-2" plays a crucial role in controlling how alcohol stimulates the brain to release dopamine, triggering feelings of reward. They found that those with that specific gene variation drank more often at the age of 16 than those without it.

The study appears in the proceedings of National Academy of Sciences.
