SJ Police Chief Chris Moore retires

SAN JOSE, Calif.

Moore announced in September that he would retire at the end of January.

The 25-year veteran has led the San Jose Police Department for the last two years.

His tenure saw rising crime in the city along with budget cuts and growing morale problems in the department.

Deputy Chief Larry Esquivel will run the police department while city officials search for a new chief.
