On Friday afternoon Jack Buschbaum donated a Nintendo Wii and other gaming supplies for the Regional Burn Center at the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center.
He got help from the San Jose Firefighter Burn Foundation, which facilitated the fundraising.
The 13-year old says the Wii can help burn victims recover from their injuries.
"It helps them stretch and recover," Buschbaum said. "If they don't stretch they can cringe up, and that's not good. This helps them have fun and also recover at the same time."
Jack raised more than $1,500 to buy the Wii.
He says he came up with the idea for the scouting project because his mother is a nurse in the burn unit.
