A 12-week-old pit bull mix "Sonora" was taken from a Rocket Dog Rescue event in San Francisco.
The rescue group has contacted police.
"Sonora" has a heart-shaped marking on the right side.
The group says a young couple in a black Toyota Tacoma took off with "Sonora" during an adoption event on Sunday at Stonestown Galleria.
