That would raise the average fare by 18 cents from $3.44 to $3.62 per ride. BART officials say the increase is necessary to stay on track with inflation.
The plan would also slightly increase fares in 2016, 2018 and 2020 -- and include an increase to fees at some of the busiest BART parking lots.
BART's board will discuss the proposal Thursday during a public hearing in Oakland.
