Man plays piano set on fire in Half Moon Bay

HALF MOON BAY, Calif.

Mauro Ffortissimo set a baby grand piano on fire, as a finale to the concerts he had been performing there for two weeks, before the city shut him down.

"You know good things like this will bring people together, which is wonderful. The burning of the piano is challenging to see it go up in smoke. But I had a couple of ideas about it and I feel actually good about it," said Ffortissimo.

Ffortissimo set the piano on fire, and even kept playing as it started burning. The city says he didn't have the proper permits to continue the outdoor concerts. Ffortissimo says he may use some of the piano's charred bits in a structure.
